ABRA BERENS & Women in Wine
Join us for another amazing evening of food, wine and fun at Willowbrook Mill. Abra, pronounced like abracadabra, will be bringing her food magic to the kitchen at this charming 1879 venue. Our event fans will tell you that these gatherings are more than just a wine dinner. They are food theater!
We are so lucky to be able to bring world class food and wine to our little village at the top of the Leelanau Peninsula each year with our Visiting Chef Dinners.
This summer, we are excited to welcome award winning chef and cookbook author, Abra Berens.
She will be joined by two women in the wine world who will be doing the pairings for each of the five courses Abra will prepare. Stacy Wierzba of Shady Lane Cellars and Giordana Sobel of American Wine School & Veritas Wine Distributors.

Chef Don Yamauchi, a James Beard Winner, brought his formidable talent to Northport where he created a fabulous five course meal for another sold out dinner in July of 2023
Beaujolais Nouveau Day Dinner- a collaboration with Chef Guillaume Hazaël-Massieux of La Becasse, Black Star Farms Winery and winemaker, Lee Lutes and Willowbrook Mill. On November 17, 2022, a perfectly paired five course meal was served to yet another sold out crowd on this day celebrating international Beaujolais Nouveau Day.
To Hell & Back: Willowbrook Mill hosted FIVE Hell’s Kitchen Alumni Chefs in August of 2021. Chef Kim Ryan- Hell’s Kitchen Winner of Season 16
Chef Heidi Parent- Hell’s Kitchen Season 16 Runner Up

These five remarkable chefs created a paired, five course meal that wowed guests for two nights in a row, sold out status!
Chef Elizabeth Brown & Amy Spitznagel, owner of Idyll Farms hosted a cooking demonstration and tasting to a sold out crowd, bringing delicious recipes to life with Idyll Farms Goat Cheese, locally sourced produce, Baia Wines, TwoK Cidery, 45 North Winery & Bluestone Winery.
Celebrity Chef, Jimmy Schmidt cooked up a storm for two sold out nights, bringing his Artisan BBQ: Exploration of Smoke & Spice to Willowbrook Mill. Five delectable appetizers were followed by five entrees paired with Black Star Farm Wines, 45 North Wines and Bel Lago Wines.
A Traditional Indian Dinner with Chef, Rajeev Patgaonkar-For this evening of food and drink, guests dined on several appetizers from different regions of India. Lamb Kofta, Jal Jira & Samosas among the offerings. Guests enjoyed this evening of flavors, colors and sounds of India...right here in Northport, Michigan

Five fabulous, fun and celebrated authors came together at Willowbrook Mill to meet & greet, lead a discussion and sign some of their many titles for readers- Dana Fredsti, Alyssa Alexander, Barbara Stark Nemon, Meika Usher, Lyssa K. Adams.
